In 1993 MasterCare Patient Equipment,
Inc. saw the lack of innovative development activity associated
with accessible bathing as an opportunity. To take advantage of this
opportunity, an intensive development program was implemented to design a
whole new family of interactive bathing devices concentrating on product
development, enhancements and the introduction of “BathAire(SM)”.
With this new approach to manufacturing and customer care,
MasterCare revolutionized the institutional
bathing market we know today. The overall criteria for this development was:
1. Design a new family of accessible bathing products from the ground up incorporating innovative concepts to significantly improve their function and utility over existing devices.
2. Design each product to be interactive within the facility or home (i.e., lift accessible and or provide ambulatory access) to expand it’s utility to accomplish a wide variety of tasks and therefore value to the customer.
